Do I make thee ponder deep in thought

Creeping stealthily into thy life

Like a thief in the night

Unexpected, yet you knew it would be so

Sickness and separation

Trepidation and loneliness cloud thy days and nights

like a pregnant cloud ready to burst

Crippled with fear as nations stood still

Afraid to breathe holding thy breath of life

Afraid to exhale for fear it be thy neighbor's last

The cries of pain heavy in the storm, the storm of life engulfing all

A source of comfort once was, as gentle an embrace one could convey

Now to thy doom, thy closeness brings

No more a source of comfort as gatherings fade, quickly into nothingness

Do I make you ponder deep in thought

Those days for granted no more to be

As memories rush in to fill thy void of the good days before

Why weep and ponder deep in thought

Togetherness sought via devices made

Yet distance prevailed to steal thy embrace

Thy soul weeps no more as loved ones gather to sing songs of love

Thy voices once a distance that prevailed, now a daily melody in the hymn of life

Strangers no more as thy breath of life removed, thick with mucous as the team remains

Fighting the fight of strength renewed to loved ones lost and loneliness devoid

As the soldiers of life march to thy side lest you sink alone

Thy maker waits to hold thee in thy embrace as love renewed was never gone

Thy cries travel far and wide as nations weep, yet thy loving fight trudges on

Do I make you ponder deep in thought

Whilst many cling to their maker, hopes of life and strength renewed

Once a distance none would go, now via devices and songs of praise thy cries heed thy words of comfort.

The strength of man need not wane as thy hope prevails in mending the source

Just like Sampson prevailed, so too shall endless days and sleepless nights in our midst

The fight of life renewed as you ponder deep in thought no more
